Katie and Jack - Sefton Park
Picture this,
It’s a rainy day in September 2023, you’ve just woken up, in Liverpool, and you can’t quite believe it… Because today is the day you get to marry your best friend! Surrounded by your favourite people in quite literally THE most stunning location.
Oh we were so so excited to hear all about Katie and Jack’s amazing wedding plans and boy, it did not disappoint.
We’ve admired, well stalked, the beautiful Sefton Park Palm House, for quite some time and we were absolutely buzzing to be booked for both photo and video for this stunning location and such a wonderful couple.
The day started off with chilled and fun vibes whilst getting ready with Katie and her girls in the morning, it was drizzly outside but it didn’t even matter, absolutely nothing was going to get in the way of these girls having the most amazing day. Time flew by and Katie and Jack had opted for a sweet ‘first look’ moment together at the hotel, before setting off to Sefton Park. This was a lovely moment between the two of them, a moment of “oh my gosh we are actually doing this!” The excitement and giddiness was clear to see, we were excited to get going.
We set off just a short drive from the hotel and parked up at the gorrrrgeous Sefton Park, my oh my, even with the grey clouds and persistent drizzle, this venue is amazing.. As soon as you walk in, it’s like you’ve stepped off a plane, into somewhere tropical, a botanical collection to feast your eyes at! Guests shortly started arriving, she we got set up. Tripods, a plan in place, everything was ready.
The ceremony was absolutely faultless, watching Katie walk down the aisle was such a lovely moment, made even more special by the fact that I (Liz) was in the same year at School, as Katie. So it was a real honour to share this moment with her, and it felt like a real privilege to be the one shooting for them on such a special day.
The ceremony made me weepy (let’s blame the hormones, I was about 7 months pregnant haha!) but the vows were sweet and the exchanges were so heartfelt. We loved the stunning backdrop that Sefton had to offer, just so unique, paired with Katie and Jacks impeccable taste, it was a photographers paradise! The pops of vibrant pink, the candles, dried flowers, eye catching pampas AND that veil… oh it all just came together, their vision totally came to life!
Once their ceremony was concluded, it was time for some chilled, fun and more relaxed photos. Fun pics with friends and guests mingled with food and cocktails, there was live music and the atmosphere was fun. In between courses (and yes, the food was amazing) we were able to head outside and grab some fun shots with the bridal party and we were even able to squeeze in a much-wanted confetti photo, which was more like a confetti attack haha!
The speeches we a combination of absolutely hilarious and heartwarming. With a joint speech from Katie and Jack, concluding (We’re seeing more and more Brides getting involved with speeches during weddings and we love to see it) They’re living all the way in Melbourne and we could really see just how much it meant to them to have everyone they love, with them, on such a special day.
The party started, the band was incredible, we had sparklers, disco balls, dancing grandmas, it was just the most perfect day and we absolutely loved being a part of it all.
Please feel free to have a look through some of their gorgeous photos below, you’re also welcome to watch their highlight video!
